Sunday Night Baseball Preview : Yankees at Boston 5/1

Sunday Night Baseball Preview

HRWager’s Sunday Night Baseball preview looks at a tale of two David Prices in Boston.  He is 3-0 in five starts but sports a 5.76 ERA over the season so far.  When he wins, he keeps the runs down.  No decisions see massive run support in later innings to get him out of jams.  Now he gets to face an offensively slumping Yankees squad on ESPN this evening.  Red Sox ML is hovering near -160 after opening at -150.  Which way will the profit pour in from for this AL East game at 8PM?

Sunday Night Baseball Preview : Price

14 strikeouts is a hard effort to discount but it came against the dregs of the league.  The Atlanta Braves have a power output of five home runs entering Saturday’s action.  So to saw that Price is feeling it is a double edged sword.  What is good about David for this evening is his recent trend against New York.  Last four has seen him go 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA.  So if he is historically trending against them, will the current form of the Yankees get them a road underdog cash for us tonight?

1-4 Slump

Offense has been limited for New York during a recent five game stretch.  Brett Gardner can not get on base much at all going 3-23.  However he looks hot compared to a 1-14 Ellsbury stretch.  No wonder they have been reduced to less than two runs per game during this period of time.  Eovaldi finally had a good start and it came against Texas.  Bonus here is that Sandoval hits him really hard but is still out for the Red Sox for this one.

Odd combination of lines here.  Total starts at 8 and has gone down to 7 1/2.  ML increases to -160.  Finally, the run line is -1 1/2 +145 for Red Sox.  Gap of over 100 price difference here.  There is vulnerability here.  Avoid the Red Sox ML.  With Price still getting run support, it is either the RL at +145 or for those that like totals, the over 7 1/2 is the way to go.    Good fortune and we will see you on Monday here at the HRW.

NBA Injury Update : Hornets @ Miami 5/1

NBA Injury Update : Hornets @ Miami 5/1

NBA Injury Update 5/1

May opens up with a NBA Injury Update that pours down the profit for Sunday.  The Hornets visit Miami for a 1PM start with the Heat being a – 6 1/2 favorite.  Normally this would be spot on except for a pivotal update that makes a key Heat player questionable.  Even if he were to play, his game would be very limited by a bad shoulder.  So let HRWager guide your sports investment needs with the free pick to profit by for Sunday.

NBA Injury Update : Josh Richardson

MRI shown the medical staff that neither the shoulder is dislocated nor is there a tear in the region.  Good or second round prospects but got to get past Game Seven to get there.  How will he be missed?  Offensively the slack could be picked up but it is his defensive coverage that will be sorely missed.  First inclinations is that Kemba Walker will be oh so happy to remove his pesky presence.  Player scoring props on him should go on the over and the total for this game might go over.  Normally Game Sevens are snug scoring affairs but the Hornets best chance is to turn this into a high scoring game.

Old Men

Other dimension that will hurt is that the Heat bench will shrink.  Miami has a few starters really long in the tooth.  Wade and Johnson are beat up and we should not expect them to be able to up any dimension of their game per minute in this one.  There is no real option for another bench player to swoop in so they have to suck it up and slow the game down.

Team that controls the tempo will most certainly win this.  At the very end, the Hornets inexperience might cost them but even then it would be a close loss.  Therefore avoid the Hornets ML but the +6 1/2 is a must invest.  HRWager’s Free Pick for Sunday is Charlotte plus the points. Good fortune and we will see you later on today here at the HRW.
