Ohio Derby highlights the action at the HRWager Racebook for Saturday, June 25th.  Good afternoon from your friends at HRWager.  This weekend has some good horse racing action at storied tracks like Santa Anita.  What pinged our radar is in Ohio.  The $500k Ohio Derby has ten colts racing with some having very impressive lineages.  There is a favorite who if goes off on his current price is very juicy to pluck some profit off of.  So lets us examine this race that posts at 5:30PM EST.

Ohio Derby has a favorite near 5-2 called Mo Tom.  Direct lineage of Uncle MO, this horse has ample ability but has been snakebit.  Part of the concern is that he has more trouble than his brethren in traffic.  The Risen Star had an exhausted horse collide into him half way in the race after tiring itself off of a blistering start.  Louisiana saw their Derby have a horse steered right into the path of Mo Tom almost as if on purpose.  He finished fourth there.  It can wear on a horse that might have a long memory of this.  Look for a quick start to avoid trouble.  Will his kick be weak at the end from the projected overstart he is going to take to avoid traffic.

Your Longshot Exacta Value

Thatlookonyerface is double digits at 10-1 right now.  What is deflating his odds is a lack of results on dirt.  Synthetic tracks are right up his alley of late.  This gelding won the Grade 3 Marine Stakes.  It is learning how to race and seems fully developed now.  If the horse can take to the dirt then one has the exacta ingredient for an above average payday on Saturday.

Avoid Decorated Solider neat 8-1 as the bounceback potential is not too great here.  Access to a quality racebook is just another one of the perks that comes with your HRWager sports investing account.  So explore your options and embrace the ponies this Saturday.  Good fortune to you and we will see you on Saturday here at the HRW.

Houston @ Kansas City

Houston @ Kansas City runs into one heck of a trend that is hard to ignore on June 24th.  Good Morning to all at HRWager.  Today, we look at a team that is 25-8 at home and is a home underdog this evening.  Yes, the pitching matchup at first glance seems a bit slanted but we dug a little deeper.  Find out what we unearthed and see if the Royals are our underdog of the day in MLB action!

Houston @ Kansas City

Even better in this trend is that the recent results are even hotter for the Royals.  12-1 in their last thirteen with their only lost to Verlander and the Tigers.  Now they Dallas Keuchel who is a beast in Houston but has had problems both on the road and as of late.  0-2 in his last three with an over 4.50 ERA.  His WHIP is a mortal 1.14 for him.  At least there has been little control issues as his 23 K’s to two walks is stellar.  In essence, big innings are getting to him as he can not slam the door shut as of late.

First Five Innings

Volquez has had it for the Royals this year but only for the start of the game.  In one of the more polarizing stats, he has 2.70 ERA with hitters not faring too well at the plate against him in the first four innings.  After that, he crashes hard with an ERA near 7 and hitters crushing him for a .323 rate at the plate.  Edinson has also done well with Houston on his resume.  5-2 at home against him.  Such a slanted playing field today and yet the Royals are the underdog.

Houston has made progress getting to 37-36 this season.  Away from home they are only 15-21.  Meanwhile the Royals are 38-33 and three back to the Tribe in the AL Central.  ML is +110 and the five inning line is +115 on the home town Royals.  HRWager advises the five inning line on Kansas City for this one.  Good fortune and we will see you next time here at HRWager.
