Mariners are trying to recover for the wild card race in Texas Seattle but the calendar is quickly coming to a close.  Great to see one and all here at HRWager.  Rangers have been burying the other teams in the AL West and at 82-56 their lead is at 8.5 games.  Even worse news for the Mariners is that that number does not represent the whole they are in.  Houston is even ahead of them in the standings.  At 70-67, this close to the .500 mark will not gain them the post season.  Two established starters in this one so let us look at the market prices and give our Free Pick for MLB Betting on 9/6 right now.

Texas Seattle : Mixed bag on Ranger’s Perez

The starter for the Rangers has been a mixed bag as of late.  His last three starts can not even be used here because of their fluctuation.  He has a WHIP of 1.58 and an ERA over six in that span.  However his last start, he was aces against this Seattle team.  Furthermore, the Rangers are 11-5 against Seattle this year.  Texas has had to use their big bats against them as Seattle has scored seven or more runs against them a whopping six time this season.  Paxton has been productive in his last three starts for Seattle with middle of the road numbers in his last three games.  SO how does all of this equate to a price and market reaction?

Seattle is the Favorite

Even with Perez handling them his last time out, the Seattle ML in this one is close to -120.  It has held steady for the overnight portion of wagering. Total has been a buzzsaw as it opened at 8, fluctuated at 8 1/2 and has now dipped back down to 8.  Part of this might be the extra day of rest for Paxton.  He tore a fingernail and you never know how his mechanics might cope with the discomfort.  That potential over the added rest is a concern for tonight’s wager.

What level of disrespect is going on in the Carolina Denver season opener on Thursday, September 8th.  Good morning and welcome back to HRWager.  First game of the 2016 NFL season sees Carolina as only a three point favorite on the road against Denver.  Most of the key pieces are back for the Panthers while the Broncos have a pair of quarterbacks with zero pro passes between them.   Is Elway crafting a new blueprint for success or will the breaking in period for this signal callers be a rough one for 2016?

Onus on the running game is back in Denver.  CJ Anderson better be prepared for more than a few handoffs.  Can he eclipse over 100 yards against the stellar Panthers defense?  His efforts could make the first game for Trevor Siemian oh so much easier.  Even without Josh Norman, the Panthers are practically going to dare him to throw deep.  Reason why he won the job and Mark Sanchez got cut is because he makes fewer mistakes.  So take away the short routes and put him further away of the comfort zone in this one.

Kelvin Benjamin is Back

His presence at wide receiver will help offset some of the lackluster elements of the offensive line for Carolina.  In particular, left tackle Michael Oher is average at best and their biggest liability on that unit.  This will not be a 15-1 team but they do not have to be this year.  Experience will help them get over the humps and this game is one of them.  While Denver can lose and say we were breaking in a new quarterback, this would be a big setback for the Panthers.  One of there main rivals or foes is broken down at a key position and if they can not overcome them here then the albatross will be around their neck for quite some time.

Line opened very early at -1 1/2 and moved to -3 where it has stalled.  Our first NFL Free Pick of the 2016 season is with the Carolina Panthers minus the points.  Denver’s defense has to play perfect to keep them in this game.  Too many elements have to be near optimal against this Panthers team for Denver to win the first game.  Good fortune and we will see you next time here at HRWager.
