Baltimore-Tampa Bay Free Pick for 7/16

Conflicting momentum with an odd market price is seen in Baltimore-Tampa Bay.  Our free pick has the Orioles who have just won five out of their last ten but three straight coming into this one.  Tampa on the other hand has had little go right for them before or after the All-Star break.  Losers of seven straight are not the underdogs in this matchup by all that much in price.  Which way will he profit roll in from at this 6:10 PM start in Florida?

Baltimore-Tampa Bay : Moore’s Momentum

What has given the sharps pause in this one is Moore from the Rays.  They are hopeful that he might reverse the worst trend in the majors this season.  They have lost 23 out of their last 26 games.  Tampa is trying to dangle him as trade bait and Moore is anxious to get out of town.  His last three starts have seen him kick it up a notch.  A 1.17 WHIP is elevated because of seven walks in his last three games.  However, he has gotten out of jams well letting in less than a two ERA during the same span.

Runline Within 50 Points

Here is the rub with Baltimore.  They have clubbed Moore this season.  Eight runs in 13 2/3 innings is healthy offensive production.  The ML on Balt is -134.  Runline of -1 1/2 on the O’s is+115.  In the situations that have Baltimore win, they are expected to pound the Rays tonight.  Only factor that can throw a monkey wrench in this is Tillman’s recent bouts with control problems.  10 walks in his last three starts is sub par.  Even in that, his ERA during that stretch is below three.
