Baseball Tip : Miami at the Dodgers 4/28

Baseball tip 4/28

A shocker out west is the subject of HRWager’s Baseball Tip for April 28th.  Miami at 9-11 was not supposed to offer up this kind of resistance out west against the Dodgers.  However, a run production outage in LA by the home team has caused them to lose three straight.  Now they face the very real prospect of getting swept at home.  LA sends their import sensation, Kenta Maeda, to the mound to save the situation.  A 10PM April 28th start has the potential to close out the work week on a high note with profit in our pockets for this one.

Baseball Tip : Futility on Offense

Can the Dodgers snap out of the slump against Fernandez (1-2, 4.37 ERA)?  Jose has been strong before against LA going 2-0 but this was all before the Timmy John surgery a couple years back.  What is of concern is his last start against the Giants.  Four runs on seven hits at San Fran in a loss. This might be the medicine for a Dodgers team that has scored five runs so far in three games with the bagel for 15 shots with runners in scoring position.  No wonder the linesmakers have given this game just the 6 1/2 runs bar for the totals.

Big in his Home Town

Giancarlo Stanton usually comes up huge at the plate when he is visiting the Dodgers.  12 RBIS in his last nine games here with a batting average of .438 have given the Marlins the offense they needed against the stunted LA team.  He has been much more steady than his counterpart, Puig, has been for the home town.  His slump is approaching a worrisome level in that his strikeouts have returned but his batting average is below .200 in his last twelve games.  It appears that most signs are leaning towards a sweep here.  So how is it that LA is the ML favorite at -124?

It is because they are not.  An opener near -140 has saw focused overnight action on the Marlins.  Prognostication is that the Marlins have a better chance of solving Kenta than the Dodgers do getting back on track.  Mattingly is already in glee and this chance to sweep his former team in a four game series in LA is tempting.  Look for the Marlins to go above and beyond in a regular season game.  This long road trip goes on for Miami but they leave LA a winner.  Go with the Marlins ML today and then look to fade them when they visit the Brewers next.  Good fortune and we will see you later today here at the HRW.
