Boxing Tips for June 11th

HRWager comes to the rescue with some boxing tips for Saturday’s action.  Both HBO and Showtime has bouts going on the same time.  Mixed bag with a lot of chalk heavy favorites in these fights.  However, there is a good deal of vulnerability in some of the totals for rounds being bandied about.  So let us break down some of the bouts in which the oddsmakers missed the bar for June 11th here at the HRW.

Boxing Tips : Lomachenko is a Star?

Well we have one of those bouts in which the young up and comer, Vasyl Lomachenko, is pitted against a professional tomato can.  Juan Jose Martinez is not going to stir the fire in the lightweight division.  “Roman” Martinez is a past his prime 29-2-3 (17KO) fighter.  Look past the weak titles he won to the only bout of his that really mattered.  He fought Mickey Garcia in 2013 and got knocked out.  Martinez got a lucky right counter which dropped Mickey but did not have any last effect.  Meanwhile, Lomachenko (5-1) 3KO needs a decisive win in a rapid fashion to impress.  Key point to this is that Vasyl had to move up in weight for this bout.  He was not a powerhouse to begin with and the KO potential is far less than it would appear.  The total is 9 1/2 rounds where the price is -165/+135.  ML on the upset is over +2000 on Martinez.  No ML wager even in a parlay on Lomachenko should be attempted as Martinez has enough experience to get that lucky punch in.  Look for it to go the distance as Vasyl has to be wary of the experience of Roman Martinez here.  This bout is on the HBO side of the broadcasts Saturday.

Showtime : Molina vs Provodnikov

A closer price in this one on the ML where John Molina JR (28-6. 23KO) is a +950 underdog to Ruslan Provodnikov at -1450 favorite status. Super welterweight bout where Provodnikov (25-4, 18KO) is near the end of the road wanting one last title shot.  This fight will feature caveman styles with power in both hands.  Molina is 33 and is throwback like Ruslan is.  Difference is that Molina is already on the decline with losses in three of this last four and two of those were by knockout.  This is going to be the carnage offensive battle that most boxing fans will like to see.  Bout of the night is on Showtime here.  The under 9 1/2 rounds in this 12 round bout is +120.  Pound this for both profit and entertainment value this evening.
