CFL Free Pick : Calgary-Winnipeg 7/20
Calgary-Winnipeg opens up CFL Week Five action at 8:30PM EST. The Blue Bombers (1-3) are in danger of having their 2016 season slide off of the map. Calgary (1-1-1) is not where they thought they would be at this point of the season. An opening line of +5 for the home team has been bet on by some sharps so that one can get + 5 1/2 on the Blue Bombers. Is Calgary the path to quick cash this Thursday the 21st?
Calgary-Winnipeg : Drew Willy Still Starts
It would be understandable to Winnipeg fans if Drew Willy was their only viable starter. His numbers are loved by fantasy gurus but they are at best a paper tiger. Over 1,200 yards with a completion rate of 72% has come mostly out of attempts to dig themselves out of early troubles. The key stat for him is that he only has five touchdowns to three interceptions. Middle of the field success but lack of prowess punching it in. Matt Nichols is highly thought of as a backup and has down his job well when called upon by the staff, yet Drew Willy is still your starter at 1-4. A tad too predictable will have the Calgary defense exploiting him on Thursday.
Well Rested
Coming off the bye week benefits this Calgary team greatly. They have all five wide receiving options healthy for the first time all year. Their rushing and overall offense has done well. Now with a full fledge receiving corps, Bo Levi Mitchell can let it fly. Look for them to storm out of the gates against a slow starting Winnipeg team.
Here we have a Calgary franchise that has beaten Winnipeg four straight times. Stampeders are coming off of a rest. Offense is most intact that it has been all season. Blue Bombers have struggled all season long in the early going. Opt for the – 2 1/2 first half line for the Calgary over Winnipeg. Good fortune and we will see you next time here at the HRW.
