College Football Free Pick : Vandy at Houston

College football free pick seeks to make heads and tails out of the Houston Cougars (7-0).  Undefeated and nationally ranker, the Cougars rely mostly on a one dimensional attack to steam roll opponents.  We have already seen Georgia Tech lose badly when this type of focused offensive approach gets handled by a team close to them in talent.  So are the Commodores of Vandy out of the SEC in the same tier as Houston?  Linesmakers do not think so as a +12 point spread is on the visitor.  Find out which way to wager on this Saturday game at 7PM.

Is Greg Ward Jr Legitimate?

Passing wise, can the Houston quarterback cut the mustard in this one.  Part of the argument against him is that these numbers have come against opponents outside of the Power Five conferences.  Further fuel to the fire is the Vandy has slapped around some of the more potent offenses on the defensive side.  Remember the hype around Western Kentucky?  They were held to under three hundred yards.  Georgia and Ole Miss were also held closer than the pundits had predicted.

What Does This Mean?

The opening total of 46 was met with laughter and rocketed upwards.  No pause as it now stands on 49 1/2 points.  So is this the perception that Vandy is not up to the task or that the Commodores can march it up and down.  A key in this determination is the spread history.  It has gone from +14 to near +12 on Vandy.  So it is logical to conclude that the Houston defense will have more problems than predicted in holding their foe back.

So if Vandy does well, the over is still in play.  Do not discount the difficulties of a second tier SEC team will have with Houston.  Key is that this game comes in the middle of league play.  Nowhere near the time and effort to devote to debunk Houston.  Take the over 49 1/2 now as there is still life for our precious profit in it.
