College Football Freebie : ND @ Temple 10/31

HRWager joins us now for their college football free pick.  They have gone outside the box to grant us a look at some non standard fare for football on Saturday.  While the Irish are a betting favorite, Temple is little more than a regional taste until this season.  With an appearance in the Top 25, this game has the handicappers somewhat at a loss as to what to post the line at.  They went overly eager on the Fighting Irish here.  What is the spread and do we have the chance to cash in on the home team in this one?

College Football Pick : Near the Bicentennial 

1976 saw this nation celebrate 200 years of liberation from England and others.  Why bring this up in a football column firmly at the end of 2015.  Well the last time that we saw Temple ranked in football was way back in 1979.  A long time for this as the crowd will most certainly play a factor in this one.  Rabid will be the understatement as the action comes firmly in the heart of Philadelphia.  Couple that with the relative inexperience and success of Notre Dame on the road this season seems to have this one more up in the air then +11 the home Owls are getting.

Relishing the Underdog Role

Temple (7-0) is a perfect 3-0 ATS in high profile games in which they are the underdog.  Cincinnati, Penn State, and ECU all went down to them.  The keys are whether the Owls can cope with the physical play of the Irish.  They pushed around a Georgia Tech and crushed their hopes for weeks.  ND has three quality backs and a stud at wide receiver in which QB Will Fuller targets a tad too much.  However, if the opposition can not stop the wide out then this is not a concern.

Alright now is the time for Temple to earn the reputation that their stats say they have earned.  A national top ten defense at home had better come and perform well on the lines.  Offensively, they have a running back and QB combination that are responsible for 21 touchdowns.  Too much home cooking for the Owls as the Irish will underwhelm on the road.  Look for a cover by the Owls but do not go crazy on the ML of the Owls as this is an avoid.  Good fortune to you in this and get those bets in right now at HRWager for an 8PM start on Saturday.
