College Football Preview : TCU at Minnesota 9/3
HRWager’s College Football preview powers its way into the start of the season with TCU visiting the hard working Golden Gophers of Minnesota. The Jerry Kill system allowed his team to beat teams of equal talent but this is not the case with the Horned Frogs. Will the ball control system allow Minnesota to cover with the plus fourteen points given to them? Read on here at HRW to get that profit to start up.
College Football Preview : Thirteen Catches
An NFL caliber tight end provided enough of a threat to prevent every team from piling it on to stop the run. Gone to the pros, the Gophers most potent receiving option has just thirteen receptions last year. Even though TCU lost some studs on defense, they have more than enough talent being #2 in the land to throttle a one dimensional team. So we have a squad that will not score a lot of points but will consume a lot of time.
No Remorse
This is the season that will not catch TCU unaware. Last year, Ohio State squeaked into the playoff system over the Horned Frogs. For this season, every effort for emphatic victories will be pursued. The Gophers front seven are strong but TCU’s offensive line has almost all seniors, is talented, and have great chemistry. A second half last year saw Trevone Boykin kept under wraps. The difference is that Gary Patterson can adjust his schemes while Jerry Kill must rely on maximizing a known quantity. People that are relying on the same old hat last year will be sorely mistaken.
Do not let the Ohio State championship elevate the entire Big Ten in your handicapping. Minnesota is a good story of a hard working team. However they have limited potential in this one. TCU will be looking to paste large numbers and will do so here. The -14 for the road favorite is not nearly enough. Our Free Pick to open the season is TCU for the big cover. Good fortune and we will see you next time here at HRW.
