College Hoops Free Pick : Past Matchups
By looking at the past, we can see a clear pattern starting to emerge.
- Cin 58 UConn 57 1/8 at Hartford . Gary Clark came through in the clutch with eleven seconds left as his three point play propelled the Bearcats to victory. A lot was made afterwards by the amount of easy shots that the Huskies missed on route to the loss.
- Cin 65 UConn 60 2/20 in Cincinnati. Bearcat defense shined in this one. Nine offensive boards off of 37 missed shots was the key defensive stat for Cincinnati in this one. Young Jalen Adams poured it on for UConn but everyone else was held in check.
What Lies Ahead
Two factors collide head on in this one. Jalen Adams is progressing really well for the UConn Huskies. His freshman season could be considered a success. His jump shots have started to fall which makes him even more potent. Compare this to the success that the defensive effort of the Bearcats the last time out. It was suffociating to say the least. Gary Clark continues to be a pest to the Huskies. Last game he got a double double with Jacob Evans getting 13 points. Which is the stronger trend going in?
Strong defense is what we are going with here. Jalen’s progression has been good but it is not on the level of put your team on your back quality. Take the defense of the Bearcats plus the projected prowess of Clark and Evans in this one. The HRWager Free Pick of the day for March 11th is the Bearcats ML. Good luck to Cincinnati investors and we shall see you tomorrow here at the HRW.
