Labor Day holiday has moved the start of our Golf Free Picks until Friday. Good afternoon and it is great to see you again here at HRWager. The next leg of the Fed Ex playoffs brings us up to the northeast. TPC Boston has has some cosmetic changes that should effect one’s outlook in handicapping. With a packed field of almost every golfer in the top 100, there should be quality play up and down the field. We bring to you our wagering card and recommendations for the Deutshce Bank event this Friday, September 2nd.
Golf Free Picks : 2nd Hole
The almost automatic birdie at #2 has been given a little bite this year. In previous events, the hole measured out at less than 300 yards. Players of even average driving ability were able to make the green in one shot. Now it goes for over 350 yards. Short iron or wedge play has to be implemented. Hard to get that tweener shot going so early in the round. This should still be the easiest hole on the course but is no longer the guaranteed three that it was before.
Free Picks : Our Card
Two traits we tried to find in our selections this week hold the keys to success in heads up wagering. The ability to get the ball close to the pin in the par fours is paramount here. Also avoiding the water traps in this course is vital. One can ask when isnt it but one mis step here can both cost the whole event for the golfer and our bets for heads up wagering. Here are the two we like.
- Sergio Garcia (1st Round ) over Rickie Fowler
- Charley Hoffman (Tournament) over Branden Grace
Remember that tv coverage and the event itself does not start until Friday. Golf Channel will have the broadcast on Fri and Sat with NBC giving an assist on Sunday plus Labor Day. Good fortune in your golf wagering and we will see you next time here at HRWager.
