Golf Wagering : Wells Fargo Championship 5/4
North Carolina is the scene for our golf wagering interests as Rory returns. If there is ever a venue for the old McIlroy to return it is the one. Last year, he set both the single round and tournament record for Quail Hollow Club. Now his defense is a bit daunting as eight of the top 12 golfers in the world are going to play here. Whom will HRWager project as putting the boom back in our bankrolls this weekend?
Golf Wagering : How to View
Later evening coverage will greet us for Thursday and Friday as the Golf Channel picks it up at 4PM. Weekend is witness to the usual marriage of PGA broadcasting as Golf Channel gets the 1-2:30 PM slot and then CBS brings us home 3-6PM on Saturday and Sunday. So sit back and watch the golfers who excel at driving dominate the course. Approaches are typically in the 150 t 175 yard range so this tier of iron play your wagering candidates should excel in. A late note for this one is that Dustin Johnson is out with no reason being given at this time.
Our Card
Futures pricing has Rory at +300 to win the event with the next person clocking in at +1000. This is the level of perceived dominance he has here. Head to head wagering on Rory he is pitted against either Rickie Fowler (+140) or Adam Scott (+158). The real money maker here is fading Adam Scott. He has not made the cut here in his previous two attempts. Combine that with his last start which was 42nd at the Masters and Rory for the round of the entire tournament is a great value here.
Dark Horse
Very few times will we go out on a limb on Hideki Matsuyama but here is one of them. While still not worthy of the future to win, the golfers he is pitted against for heads up wagering are advantageous. Except for total driving, the rest of the key stats needed to excel at he does very well. So it is understandable that -150 over Phil Mickelson for the entire tournament. Also his value -118 against Henrik Stenson should be exploited here.
Golf wagering is the ideal bang for your buck in a multi day event. Consistent play over four days allows one the leisure of seeing their golf investment come in to cash. Rory McIlroy in head to head wagering over Adam Scott either first round or the entire event. Hideki Matsuyama over Phil Mickelson and/or Henrik Stenson for the entire tournament.
