With twenty games between them in the standings, the Twins are only near a +135 ML underdog for this one. Why is it? Indians limped into the break at 4-6 in their last ten after a sizzling June. Find out whom you should invest with in this 8:10PM start for this one.
Indians-Twins : Pitching
Here we have a matchup with two hurlers who are red hot in their last three starts. Minnesota has Santana has a WHIP of 0.79 in his last three games despite giving up five walks. His ERA is reflective of this coming in at 1.33 ERA. Carrasco of Cleveland is almost doing as well. A WHIP over one has his earned run average weighing in at a tad more than Santana. He also has been having control issues in giving up seven walks but offsets that with 23 strikeouts. So in a projected low scoring game, the ML’s run closer together due to less run difference potential.
Totals are High
With all this momentum coming into this one, the total is at a healthy 8 1/2. Not only that but the market has gone slightly up increasing price on the over. Part of this has been the historic problems that the Cleveland starter has against the Twins. 0-2 with an over six ERA in two starts from last season. Also part of this equation is the sudden power found in the bats of the Twins. Home runs are way up for them as of late.
Santana kept Cleveland to a lone run this year in one start. Twins ended the first half of the season being one of the hotter teams. Part of that is that so many teams hit the wall right then that younger ones have the energy to overcome this. Now that everyone is rested, look for increased focus on the defensive side of the ball. Our free pick of the day is the under 8 1/2 in the total for this one. Good fortune and we will see you tomorrow here at HRWager.
