MLB All Star Game Free Pick 7/12

MLB All Star Game

Will high profile starters on the shelf make all the difference in the MLB All Star Game this evening?  7:30 PM is when the pre game is picked up by FOX with the action itself starting at 8PM.  Good Morning and welcome back to HRWager. Interesting dynamic is in play for the exhibition this evening.  AL has gone with more relievers while the NL has a higher percentage of starters on their pitching staff.  This is even in the face of some of the biggest names not making it to the game. With the NL being the slight favorite, which way are the winds of profit coming in from here at Petco Park this evening?

MLB All Star Game : NL Starters

Odd that the NL opened up and is still the favorite at the -110 level.  Strasburg, Kershaw, and Bumgarner are just three top shelf arms not making it for the NL. Instead we get Cueto as the man who gets the ball first here. Johnny has found a level of comfort in both his large contract and new digs in the pitcher friendly confines in San Fran. Stats on the road for him this year are pretty consistent except for two.

  1. Double the amount of walks given up despite ten fewer innings pitched (16 to 8)
  2. Double the home runs given up on the road.

He is aware that more caution needs to be taken away from ATT Park and has adjusted.  However, this is a pitcher who does not handle stress in the best manner. Look for him to be vulnerable against the AL’s best right from the get go.

Better Equipped

Royal’s manager Ned Yost has the team better built to protect the lead.  Two more relievers on staff allow for a tad more flexibility when it comes to matchups. In the game where the winning team claims home field advantage for their league, Ned gives off an aura that this is more important to him than the NL skipper does.  Attitude is infectious and should prove to be the key for tonight.

AL gets one close to even money +100 tonight.  More suited as a complete team in an exhibition game with a low total.  Good enough to get our money.  HRWager’s Free Pick for the MLB All-Star Game is the American League.  Good fortune with this tonight and we will see you later today here at the HRW.
