MLB Free Pick : Marlins at Braves 5/29

MLB Free Pick 5/29

HRWager’s MLB Free Pick examines where in the world would the Braves (14-34) be without the Miami Marlins (25-24).  Here we have one of those statistical oddities that crop up each and every season.  This time it benefits Atlanta greatly whenever they see Miami.  Find out how strong this trend is tonight.  One of the few times that you will see the Braves as a -130 ML favorite from now to the 4th of July here at HRWager.

MLB Free Pick : Braves Punching Bag

Let this all sink in.  Woeful Braves average only 3.2 runs in each game for 2016.  However when Miami comes a calling, they unleash their boomsticks to the tune of almost six runs per.  Using this increased offense, the Braves are 5-0 against the Marlins.  Turner Field was a landmine of losses til Miami visited this holiday weekend.  For the first time this year, the Braves have won consecutive games at home.  Now the Marlins are gripping under all sorts of self inflicted pressure and they get Atlanta’s ace this afternoon at 5PM EST.

What Stats for 1-4 !

2.57 ERA for a pitcher who is 1-4.  Not only that but Teheran is hot right now.  Under one ERA in his last six starts.  At Turner he is even more dynamite, stifling the opposition to just three runs in 19 innings.  No reason to see anything else but a continuation of this level of performance this afternoon.  The total has a lot of playroom at the 7 1/2 runs for this game.  Stanton could miss another game with his right side injury.  For the Marlins part, they put Tom Koehler on the mound.  He has already lost in Atlanta this year giving up six runs to this team.  What hampers him in 2016 is a high walk rate.

If Koehler does not just pitch strikes today then the afternoon could be long for the Marlins.  Teheran has been lights out while Miami has sleptwalked against this team.  Damage is done for this series.  Atlanta will stay on a roll tonight.  HRWager advises you to go for the gusto here.  If Braves win, it should be by more than one.  They are in that strong of a position.  -1 1/2 near +170 is your free pick of the day.  Good fortune and we will see you on Monday here at HRWager.
