MLB Free Pick : Nationals @ Royals 5/2
Missouri used to be a very rough destination for the road team in our MLB Free Picks. However, Washington might prove that this road trip has lost some of its bite. Happy Monday Morning to all those at HRWager. What a wonderful weekend of sports investment we all had. We look to keep the momentum going with the Nationals visiting the Royals. Washington ran roughshod over the Cardnials but looks to have a much tougher task in Kansas City. What have we projected for 8:15PM opener of this series on May 2nd?
MLB Free Pick : Ten Game Road Trip
We had some worry about Washignton heading into St. Louis. When one gets swept by the Phillies at your home stadium then several issues could be heading southward. However, this appears to be an anomaly as this same team swept all three at St. Louis. What was corrected was the lights out starting pitching. Two runs in the last two games saved the Nationals from a power outage at the plate. Byrce Harper in particular has bombed at the plate going 1-17 in the last five games. Gio Gonzalez gets the ball tonight. He is just 1-1 but his ERA comes in at 1.42. Four earned runs all year with opponents batting under .200 against him.
Royals Limp Home
Kansas City could not create much on a six game road trip that saw them go 1-5. If not for a 4-1 win Sunday in Seattle, they would have went bagel for the time away from home. 27 scoreless innings is not supposed to happen to a team that can manufacture runs like this. A bad sign for two reasons. We know that big bats win regular season games. However, the competitive fire of a defending champion to work harder than the rest might not be there for significant stretches this season.
Volquez goes for the Royals and his passion for the game should get them pumped. The total is where we will strike in this one. 7 1/2 is way too high of a number for these two pitchers in this situation. Both teams struggling to produce runs is the cherry on top for this selection. HRWager Free Pick of the day is to plunder the under 7 1/2 runs here. Good fortune and we will see you later on here at the HRW.
