Our MLB Prediction looks at the two teams in quite opposite paths. Los Angeles is still imploding while the Blue Jays are streaking towards the top. Can the three zone time difference provide any impediment to Toronto tonight? Let HRWager examine the game for you and produce of MLB Free Pick of the day for 8/22.
Even Trout Feeling the Heat
During this dry spell, people are even piling on Mike Trout for their recent woes. How is a team with this talent only at 63-59? Part of the problem is this problematic stretch for him in August. We have him far below .200 with over a strikeout per game in that period of time. As a result, we see the Angels going 9-17 since July 23rd with little sign of a recovery. Houston is gaining their groove and have put a near four game lead on them. So how are the Angels only a slight home underdog instead of being a more pronounced one?
Donaldson Lighting it Up
The protection of a potent line up has Donaldon producing an over .900 OPS. In Oakland, he had to be almost the whole damn show. Here he is a key cog but pitchers can not really avoid any one particular batter. Now he has to face the only Angels pitcher producing well in Heaney. He keeps the opponents in check and LAA has won eight out of his last ten starts. Estrada has over ten starts in which he has given up two or fewer runs for the Jays. All of this in combination does not bode well for the Angels.
All of this factored together makes for a compelling case. Until Trout and company can prove that they can cure their offensive woes, they are a profitable fade. Take the -120 or so with the Blue Jays today. Good fortune and we will see you tomorrow here at HRWager.
