MLB Projection : Pirates to Be Profitable in May 5/7

Good morning baseball fans as HRWager brings you our MLB Projection to profit by.  This month sees a 16-13 Pirates team ready to round the corner for the rest of May.  They welcome back to the fold one of the best young players to the game.  Find out who he is, what he did on his return, and why he missed so much time here at the HRW.

MLB Projection : Jung Ho Kang is Back

Kang was the victim of an aggressive slide in September as his leg could not stand the impact resulting in him being out for the rest of the year.  Here is how it all went down and you can make a judgment on if it was a dirty play.

No Cheapie

So Kang returned on Friday night for the Pirates.  Took him two at bats to get his feel back at the plate.  Third time up he went the opposite way to the seats at Busch Stadium.  For right handers on that field requires quite a bit of power.  Last at bat, he pulled a ball and went yard one more time.  This is another power element that will make Pittsburgh a hard out in  the regular season.  Now all the Pirates have to do is figure out how to best use him.  He has to be eased back into the lineup.  With an interleague series in Texas, he is the ideal DH as he fully gets into the swing of things.

How best to profit of of this?  While HRWager thinks that Pitt ML for the month will result in a profit (from 5/7), the best path is going to be the team total runs dimension.  Over on the Pirates side is the most controllable of the investment options out there.  Good fortune in this and we will see you on Sunday here at HRWager.
