MLB Tips : Tampa Bay at Arizona 6/7
HRWager’s MLB Tips for June 7th looks at momentum from an average team when running into an ace. Rays (26-30) have won four in a row including last night in the desert. Now for their troubles, they get to face Greinke who is finally finding his form since his high priced free agent move last season. At issue is a -155 ML opener on the Diamondbacks who have been in a prolonged downward spiral. Where to pluck the profit in this late night starter at 10PM EST on Tuesday?
MLB Tips : Surprises All Around
Arizona (25-35) was thought to be a contender in the NL West this year. They started badly and then corrected course to get to 17-18. After that it has been more collapse than anything else with a 8-17 stretch. One of the few bright spots has been Greinke’s pitching in his last three starts. 3-0 with a WHIP of 0.81. 20 : 2 Strikeout to walk ratio in his last 21 inning means he has quality stuff. He is going to need it tonight as these Rays lead the league in home runs with 85.
Advantage Arizona
Even with his slow start, Greinke is only averaging 1.0 HR per nine innings. His last three seasons have seen him hover near the 0.7 mark. Translation is that he does not make many horrible mistakes. Now we look at the total which at eight has seen some sharp movement on the over side. All of this gives us the impression that the weak link tonight is the Tampa starter. Even though the team is hot, Moore is not. 1.92 WHIP and over six ERA in his last three starts. Combine that with closer Alex Colome pitching in four straight games means that the Diamondbacks might finally have their time in the sun tonight.
ML near -155 and the runline – 1 1/2 is going near +130. With the Rays home run potential dampen tonight, look for Arizona to win big in a majority of scenarios when they walk off with the victory. Go with the runline for the extra boost in your bankroll. Good fortune and we will see you next time here at the HRW.
