Past performances have not gone well for Johnny in the playoffs.  0-2 with an over five earned run average has only one silver lining.  Perhaps he has found his bearings both in the AL and with the Astros.  He yielded four runs but went out strong earlier in the series.  Looking dominant after that, he retired twelve of the last fourteen he faced.  Now he has major money to pitch for tonight.  Close it out strong and people will forgive past transgressions.  His free agent status will be much stronger with a clutch win tonight.

Collin McHugh Finding Form

September was not kind in terms of consistency for Astros’ pitcher Collin McHugh.  Up and down for most of the month has not prevented him from finally finding form in October.  He shut down almost all of the Royals.  The power got to him as he gave up two home runs but that is not the concern here.  It is how does he temper a KC team that is 9-1 in their last ten elimination games.  Furthermore, the Royals can still produce runs by a variety of means.  This is the difference in the game.
