NFL Lock of the Week : Denver at San Diego

Motivation is at the core of the NFL Lock of the Week as the 9-2 Broncos look to put the Peyton Manning era in the rear view mirror.  Brock is the quarterback once again and does not want to open the door for a Peyton return from injury.  This game will be able to demonstrate his prowess at all fronts as he must go beyond game manager capacity to win the starting role.  Can the – 3 1/2 be covered against the 3-8 Chargers in California?

Hardest weeks a coach will put in is when the changes he desires are within his reach.  Kubiak has had to indulge and game plan around Manning’s limitations the entire year.  With Brock the coach can put in the formations that he favors.  This is all about setting the young man up for success to face the least possible amount of distraction come playoff time.  It equates to a focused effort when in year’s past in a similar circumstance not all the team would be gung ho for this one.

Offensive Firepower

The total forty three is in definite danger here.  Gates has a very favorable matchup against Darian Stewart.  He is only 35th in passes defended for the safety position.  With Darius Kilgo seeing more time due to injury on the Broncos side, the pass happy Chargers could get some punches in.  Alas their defense is average at best and not interested in putting forth great effort with their offseason just around the corner.

Total of 43 should be bet on the over.  A spread of – 3 1/2 is an absolute gift from HRWager this Christmas.  All the way through the game, their offense will be highlighted on the Denver side.  Look for the crowning achievement of the Kubiak system to be on display.  Denver pours it on and wins running away. Good fortune and we will see you later today here at HRW.
