NHL Free Pick : Detroit at Philadelphia 3/15

Profit is first and foremost with HRWager’s NHL Free Pick.  While the initial outpouring is for college basketball on Tuesday, this hockey matchup features a polarizing wagering angle.  We have the Detroit Red Wings skating into Philadelphia for an early 7PM start on 3/15.  The ML is -130 on the home town Flyers.  Are they this strong or will the winds of profit blow away from the City of Brotherly Love Tuesday night?

NHL Free Pick : Dominate Home

Flyers have a chance to really narrow the gap for the final wild card spot against the team that currently holds it.  Linesmakers are favoring the Flyers in no small part due to their dominance over Detroit at home. Last ten games against the Winged Wheel has seen the Flyers have a 44-17 scoring advantage that has resulted in ten straight wins against Detroit.Not only that but the rest of the league is faring little better against Phille.  6-1-1 in their last eight is just the push they needed at this time.  In particular, Claude Giroux has torn them up and did so in the Flyers only game against the Red Wings this year.

How is it This Close?

Well it certainly is not because of momentum.  2-6-2 in the last ten on the road.  How bad is it?  They lost 1-0 against Toronto.  Mrazek is appearing to get over that groin injury at last so this is a silver lining to the black clouds gathering in the motor city.  Because of him, the penalty killing has improved as of late.  However, if they can not generate decent puck control then this will be a long evening for Detroit.
