NHL Free Pick for Pittsburgh at Boston 12/16

Tonight’s money maker from HRWager comes from hockey and it is our NHL Free Pick for December 16th.  We feature a Pittsburgh team that is trying to reverse their fortune by changing their problems in 2015.  Boston plays host and had their winning streak snapped by Edmonton on Monday.  With the home town Bruins being the chalk favorite, which way will the winds of profit blow for this one?

NHL Free Pick : Change at any Cost

NHL Free Pick

Pittsburgh’s former coach got fired for two reasons.  First off, this is a franchise that does not accept records hovering around .500.  Secondly, offensive firepower for this team should have them scoring at a higher clip.  They take plenty of shots but goals scored and power play proficiency are lagging.  This is the factor that has to be corrected by new coach Mike Sullivan.

Plenty of Shots

Boston did not suffer from lack of offensive effort for the Oiler’s game.  Almost a two to one shot advantage did not equate to the win.  The Bruins came in on a roll before this one.  Tonight they will face the backup goal tender from the Penguins which leads to our wagering recommendation.

Instead of the ML, we will look at the total.  It is at five goals and saw some contraction the last few hours.  It used to be over five at -135.  Contraction took it back to a more affordable -130.  With both teams willing to go into a higher gear and shooting the puck a lot, the over is the exploitable angle here.  The HRWager NHL Free Pick is the over five goals for this one.  Good fortune and we will see you next time here at The HRW.
