NHL Free Pick of the Day : Colorado at Calgary 3/18

The hardwood is not the only source of profit this evening as our NHL Free Pick of the Day will prove.  HRWager has a barn burner as Colorado (36-31-4) visits the Flames (30-35-5) for the money maker of the night.  Calgary has the advantage in the eyes of our linesmaker to the tune of -115 or so.  An even game is projected but we here at the HRW have a vantage point where a tangible advantage is to be had at 9PM tonight.

NHL Free Pick : Colorado More Than In It

Most of the year had the media of the Mile High City burying their Avs over their disappointing season.  Well the team has rallied around each other and have gotten that second half push they have lacked before.  When Roy first became coach, Colorado was an early puckline wonder as he pushed his team too hard early.  They ran out of gas but know he seems to comprehend how to manage a season.  To our delight as sports investors, the Avs are a ML beast.  They have nurtured their young talent and now they have the attrition level to make it to the end.  Combined with veteran leadership and Varlamov confirmed in goal, this team’s energy level will be good for this evening.

Long Home Stand

Calgary has benefited from being at home for an extended period of time.  3-1-1 on a six game homestand with this one being the last before hitting the road.  That in itself is a major distraction as the feeling of being uprooted and logicistics of travel is daunting after a week plus at home.  Backlund and Frolik are a great line right now once Joe Colborne got mixed into the equation.  However, the reliance on this one line is going to get them in trouble.  Teams can now game plan around them and with any sort of nullification, the opposition will have the advantage against all their other lines.

Colorado won last time out and have just a scant one point lead in their wild card playoff chase.  Avs have just as much talent and much more energy.  An imperativeness with them on the ice is obvious in this late playoff push.  ML Colorado is the strongest play of the night even if they are on the road.  Good fortune in your sports investments and we will see you tomorrow here at the HRW.
