NHL Tip : Islanders at Tampa Bay 3/25
Many scrambles are being made for the playoffs that involve HRWager’s NHL Tip of the Day for March 25th. Tampa Bay (89 points) is in that pack of teams destined to make the playoffs but need a respectable finish to prevent the pack from catching up. The Islanders (87 points) are an iota away from the top three qualifying in the division. This does not even ensure they are in the playoffs as three teams fight for two wild cards. Both teams will have to bring an energetic game with little concern for resting for the post season. What are the lines and whom should you invest in at this 7PM faceoff in Tampa Bay?
NHL Tip : Tampa Turnaround
The Lightning were well on their way to playing themselves right out of the playoffs. A 1-4-1 span is not something your team wants to endure during the home stretch. Corrections have been made with Tampa winning their last two games to get right back into it. Steve Stamkos has five goals and three assists in his last five games to lead the charge. Not only that but they are doing it against other teams equally interested. This was seen by the way Tampa laid the wood to the Red Wings. Lightning fans can see more shots taken from their possession style of offense working out well here.
Islanders Know This
So with the Islanders knowing that Tampa will be shooting more, how will they cope with this being so far from home? New York has won the last three games in the series. Even with Greiss being in goal for this one, it will be difficult to stem the tide. Thomas is 1-4-1 with a 2.64 gaa in his last six games. This combined with a slight offensive downturn for the Islanders means a 4-4-2 stretch when the FLyers are soaring at a 7-1-2 clip. There is no reason why this young team should be hitting the wall right now but the Islanders do not have momentum coming into this one.
A total of five has the over grabbing the chalk at the -130 level. This is a reflection more of the snakebit sticks of the Islanders than a grindem game. Money line wagers see the home team getting anywhere between -140 and -155. Even though this has some chalk, the NHL Free Pick of the Day is the Tampa Bay ML to win. Parlay this with another investment to pack a punch with your sports speculation today. Good fortune and we will see you tomorrow here at the HRW.
