So load up the sports investment accounts as speculation on baseball can be profitable all summer long here at HRWager.
Opening Day Free Pick : Entire Feast
Before we get down to our profit propelling pick, let us look at the three games of the day.
- St. Louis @ Pittsburgh 1PM
- Toronto visits Tampa Bay 4PM
- NY Mets at Kansas City 8:35 PM
Baseball is pitcher dominated in the aspects of wagering. Take for instance the Rays. Toronto made great strides last year and are loaded on the offensive side of the plate. Alas, they are a very slight road underdog with the total on the game hovering near seven runs. Why? Chris Archer is one of the better aces in the league. 252 strikeouts last year gives him instant outs to get out of many jams. This is why Toronto might be back on their heels this afternoon.
Profit at Hand
Matt Harvey might be on the way to becoming the next Stephen Stasburg. Inning management and some health problems have caused him to either be on the shelf or see his body wear down. During spring ball, he suffered through not only aches and pains but blood clots from a bladder condition. All this equated to 15 runs in over just eight innings. This has the Royals being the steadier force coming out for the first game. They bring Edinson Volquez to the mound who have mastered the Mets the last two times he has seen them. Sealing the deal in the clinching Game Five of the World Series has Kansas City having the advantage on Opening Day.
So make sure to see whom your favorite teams added and lost during the offseason. However, remember first and foremost that baseball is all about the pitching matchup. Aces can change the course of a series while the third and fourth starters are typically fodder for big bats. Our Opening Day Free Pick are the Royals at +109. Too much evolving around Matt Harvey for the Mets to be the favorite tonight. Good fortune to all of us and we will see you later on here at the HRW to go over the National Championship Game of the Final Four.
