Key game for the AL East in the Red Sox Angels this evening. Toronto has just leapfrogged the Red Sox for second in their division. Now at 56-45, they get to face an Angels franchise that is floundering without much direction. Another season of underachieving and yet their manager keeps his job. So let us see if the road favorite Red Sox can win and cash our tickets this evening?
Red Sox Angels : Pomeranz’s Development
Sometimes it takes a while to persuade a pitcher to add another weapon to his arsenal. Drew has two good pitches during his days in San Diego. Since last year, he has gone from there to Oakland and finally Boston. Along the way, the necessity of a third pitch was prevailed upon him. He has listened and is now reaping the rewards. 8-7 with a 2,47 ERA overall but he has hit the wall a bit in his last three. Teams may have scouted and broken down the addition of his cutter. A WHIP of 1.25 with letting in almost four runs per nine as of late has the hungry Angels bats looking forward to him this evening.
Lines
ML on the home team opened up near +125 and has been bet down to the low +110 level. Totals 8 1/2 have become a tad more chalky on the under. Most of this has to do with the anticipated success of Santiago this evening. Hector has won five straight starts with an era that is 1.48. He also has done well historically against David Ortiz and Mookie Betts. No wonder the sharps have embraced the Angels in the overnight betting.
Totals seem a little low because of how the Angels should do against the Boston bats. ML at +110 is very good value. Invest in the alternate run line of -1 1/2 on the Angels for even more boost to the bankroll. Good fortune and we hope to see you at the ticket window cashing this LAA blowout this evening.
