Reds Pirates : MLB Betting Tip for 9/8
Established pitching abounds in the Red Pirates game we are producing for our MLB Betting Tip for September 8th. Great to see everyone here this Thursday here at HRWager. Key question is if the Pirates at 68-69 believe that they are out of the wild card race. Mathematics say that a stellar run could get them back into it but there is a red hot team in the Mets that are in their way. So will we see the hustle and intangibles that have defined Pittsburgh baseball the last few years?
Reds Pirates : Signs Looking Up
Pittsburgh just broke their eight game losing streak last night with a grinding 4-3 win against the Cardinals. The pitching matchup in terms of momentum greatly favors the Pirates tonight. That is why a -145 ML opener has gotten bet into the -155 region right now. Nova has been dealing it as of late. Change of scenery has been good for him as he seems more able to just be himself. An absurdly low WHIP of 0.76 and an ERA of under 2 has been the reward of just allowing two walks and nailing down 16 strikeouts. Can the Reds starter keep up tonight?
Strally Suffering from Loss of Control
Nothing puts the pep in the step of the opposition quite like a ton of walks. Strally has given up ten free passes in his last three starts. A WHIP of 1.67 translates to an over five ERA in that stretch. It an rather odd situation, he gave up seven of them against St. Louis the last time out but only gave up one run. Quite an accomplishment to atone for all those walks. Will he recover in time?
Even though they are out of it, Pittsburgh has a very real short term goal in this game. Get back to .500 verses a loose team in the Reds. Runline goes for the gusto at -1 1/2 +140 range. Look for Pittsburgh to give it one more grand effort tonight at 7:05 PM. Good fortune and we will see you next time here at the HRW.
