2019 Belmont Stakes Odds: Tacitus and Game Winne Are Favorites to Win

Belmont Stakes Odds are already on the board, as the last race of the Triple Crown is just around the corner.

The Belmont Stakes is considered the real test of champions, as all the elements that are required to get a horse racing victory come into play in this particular competition.

No single horse racing wagering event can test the fierceness of 3-year-old thoroughbreds like this race, and many incredibly good colts have seen their hopes vanished on the 1 ½ mile homestretch.

And, when it comes to winning the Triple Crown, is no easy task at all. The last colt to make it was Justify in 2018, and American Pharoah 3 years before. But the last horse to get this victory before that was Affirmed, back in 1978, which means that there was a 37-year Triple Crown drought. And one of the main reasons is that this event takes place in 5 weeks, so horses need to be at their best to accomplish such a tough task.

This year there’s not going to be a Triple Crown winner, and that’s because Country House, the horse that won the Kentucky Derby wasn’t able to race in the Preakness Stakes due to illness.

Belmont Stakes Odds: The Favorites:

When it comes to Belmont Stakes wagering, here’s a list of the horses that are currently favored to get you the biggest Belmont Stakes payouts:

  • Tacitus (5-2): The son of distance horse Tapit, he finished fourth at the Kentucky Derby, and with such a fantastic bloodline, it’s a fact that he has what it takes not to get caught in traffic and get the win.
  • Game Winner (4-1):This horse managed to win all of his four 2018 starts, and was also able to finish second place in 3 straight 2019 starts, before finishing fifth in the Derby.
  • War of Will (5-1): This one won the Preakness in an amazing fashion, and even though trainer Mark Casse is ready to bring the colt to the Belmont, he’s waiting for a final decision from the owners.
  • Global Campaign (5-1): This colt won the Peter Pan Stakes, a race that was held at Belmont Park, and so both the jockey and the horse are completely familiarized with the race track.
  • Tax (8-1): He’s been one of the favorites to get the win during his five past career races, getting a victory at the Grade 3 Withers Stakes, and a 2nd place finish at the Wood Memorial, and all indicate that he’s going to perform amazingly well.
  • Master Fencer (9-1): This is an import from Japan, and the colt did impressively well at the Kentucky Derby, so many oddsmakers are giving him lots of chances too.
  • Sir Winston (12-1): He had a solid Peter Pan stakes race, and even though his speed is not impressive, he’ll keep going when other colts start to get tired.
  • Intrepid Heart (14-1): He also raced at the Peter Pan stakes and finished 3rd overall. And he finished first in an allowance race at Keeneland. He’s also the son of famous colt ‘Tapit’, and that bloodline is a sign of how well he can manage the distance.
