HRWager’s Sunday Night Baseball preview looks at a tale of two David Prices in Boston. He is 3-0 in five starts but sports a 5.76 ERA over the season so far. When he wins, he keeps the runs down. No decisions see massive run support in later innings to get him out of jams. Now he gets to face an offensively slumping Yankees squad on ESPN this evening. Red Sox ML is hovering near -160 after opening at -150. Which way will the profit pour in from for this AL East game at 8PM?
Sunday Night Baseball Preview : Price
14 strikeouts is a hard effort to discount but it came against the dregs of the league. The Atlanta Braves have a power output of five home runs entering Saturday’s action. So to saw that Price is feeling it is a double edged sword. What is good about David for this evening is his recent trend against New York. Last four has seen him go 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA. So if he is historically trending against them, will the current form of the Yankees get them a road underdog cash for us tonight?
Offense has been limited for New York during a recent five game stretch. Brett Gardner can not get on base much at all going 3-23. However he looks hot compared to a 1-14 Ellsbury stretch. No wonder they have been reduced to less than two runs per game during this period of time. Eovaldi finally had a good start and it came against Texas. Bonus here is that Sandoval hits him really hard but is still out for the Red Sox for this one.
Odd combination of lines here. Total starts at 8 and has gone down to 7 1/2. ML increases to -160. Finally, the run line is -1 1/2 +145 for Red Sox. Gap of over 100 price difference here. There is vulnerability here. Avoid the Red Sox ML. With Price still getting run support, it is either the RL at +145 or for those that like totals, the over 7 1/2 is the way to go. Good fortune and we will see you on Monday here at the HRW.
