Tennis News : Halep Dominates and Big Four Olympics

Tennis News

HRWager witnessed plenty of developments on the Tennis News front this weekend.  Simona Halep double bageled her opponent in the final of a tournament in her home country.  On the men’s side, the stars of tennis are finding reasons to play in the Olympic Games.  We had been seeing mass defections on the golf side for some of the elite pros in their sport but not the ones that swing a racquet to glory.  So join us right now for the key developments on both the ATP and WTA tours ans the Summer Games and US Open come into view here at the HRW.

Tennis News : Halep Rounding into Form

A Latvian lady by the last name of Sevastova was the fodder for the frustratios of Halep as of late.  It was not like Anastasija lucked her way into the final.  She had to beat the second and fourth seeds to get there but the journey taxed her fuel reserves.  Sevastova ran out of gas as Simona sank her prospects for her first title since 2010.  Halep  had no problems in this one as she won 70 percent of her points on the serve.  If she can continue at this clip, Simona should be formidable when the US Open comes around.

Big Four Anxious to Medal Again

Men’s top tier of talent are trying to do everything in their power to make it to Rio.  Roger, Novak, and Andy will all be there.  Nadal did not make it on his own merits for recent results but has appealed to the International Tennis Federation for inclusion.  Part of the problem was his inability to play Davis Cup because of injuries.  Here are some of the eyebrow raising revelations about these four.

  1. Novak only has a bronze in two previous Olympic attempts
  2. Roger has a silver in singles and gold in doubles
  3. Andy is your  defending gold medalist here
  4. Rafa won gold in Beijing but missed London because he was hurt.

Even with them all eager to go, the ATP side is going to be missing seven out of their top twenty for the Games.  Most of these defections have been because of the concerns over the Zika virus or security.

Halep should be embraced as a woman to rail in her next few hardcourt tournaments.  If she can solve keeping her serve most of the time then she is top tier talent for the US Open.  Meanwhile, the legends of the men’s side will provide us more Olympic Moments.  Brazil is not going to be an impediment to those who cherish what the ATP tour has given them.  Good fortune and we will see you later today here at HRWager.
