Texas-Boston MLB Preview and Free Pick 7/5
Texas-Boston gives us David Price on the mound on a hot muggy day in Bean Town. With his tendency of giving up fly balls, the Texas Rangers should be salivating at the prospect of hitting him. The oddsmakers are not as keen on their prospects as the Red Sox opened up as much as a -200ML within the industry. See how this and a suspect total for this one are the exploits for profit in the 7PM start at Fenway.
Texas-Boston : Price Still Struggling
For what he is getting paid, David Price has really underperformed in 2016 for Boston. Let us look at his last three starts to see how he is still off the tracks.
- His Strikeout to Walk ratio is excellent at 18:1
- However this has no mercy on his WHIP = 1.80
- ERA is close to 6.00
- 1-1 in his last three
So we have an ace who is struggling right now and does not have a great history against Texas. Andrus (.444) and Beltre 11-35 use him for batting practice. Shin-Soo Choo is near. 400 against him. Only Prince Fielder does David do well against. All of this and the total of 9 1/2 went down to 9 for this one.
Griffin’s Slow Approach
Boston has been beating the ball everywhere as of late. 37 hits cashed in for 22 runs in their last two. Now they get to face Griffin of Texas whose breaking ball does not break the 70 mph mark. He has had two Tommy John surgeries and now is working his way back to being an MLB staple. His last three starts has given him 16 K’s to six walks. Lower WHIP and ERA than David Price’s stretch but not by much. SO how did the total go down?
Texas will have to go into their bullpen because of the care they are still exerting with Griffin. Both teams can do well against their oppositions starter. Texas ML near +170 is value in a slug out like this. Better yet, the the total over nine should cash in this evening. Those are our free picks. We hope they provide you a profit and we will see you next time here at HRWager.
