USA Argentina Preview and Prediction
9PM sees the world witness if our USA Argentina preview and prediction will be accurate. Good morning to all at HRWager. Today, we are blessed to have the first COPA semi final to savor. The United States team has rebounded as well as could be expected from an early 2-0 loss to Colombia on the opening night of the tournament. Now they get the #1 ranked team in the world. How does the USA go after a team that opened as a -227 favorite to win in the three way line this Tuesday?
USA Argentina Preview and Prediction : MIA
The Ecuador game did not take the energy from the Americans but it will tax their reserves. Three starters from that game will miss out tonight for either an abundance of yellow cards or a red car in one case. Alejandro Bedoya, Bobby Wood, and Jermaine Jones. US will get DeAndre Yedlin back after serving his time for a suspension. The other fillers have real world problems tonight. Kyle Beckerman is “heady” but slow afoot and his ground coverage is below par for this type of opponent. Graham Zusi would be an almost even swap for Bedoya as their styles are similar. Talent was lacking in comparison to Argentina and subs like Beckerman make the situation even worse.
Playing for a Draw Equates Loss
Narrow win or blowout loss is what could happen if Jurgen would go with his promised style of attack. We are reminded of the Belgium game a while back. 2-0 right off the get go by passive play. Only when the USA played like it had nothing to lose did it close the gap and threaten to equalize in the 14 World Cup. Bunker style play is not going to work here. Counter attacking will not have many chances against Argentina. Only an aggressive take it to them style will have any chance of them advancing.
Three way line has Argentina in the low -200’s, a draw above +300 and the USA to win near the +600’s. All the starters out for this one is the key to the USA. Can not come close to the talent before and now the gulf is just to wide. Jurgen’s resistance to look foolish near the end of his tenure prevents them from winning. Look for a narrow win by Argentina in the first 90 that does not demonstrate the gap between these two teams. Good fortune and we will see you later today here at HRWager.
