Serena marches onto history with her presence in the Wimbledon Ladies Final.  Good Morning and welcome back to HRWager. Yesterday, we saw Serena rout her way into the finals with a 6-2 and 6-0 win over Vesnina. Now she is one step from tying Steffi Graf’s modern Slam record of 22 major titles. In her way is the lady who dispatched her sister in the finals. Does Angelique have the ability and poise to derail Serena on what might be her best surface?

 

Wimbledon Ladies Final : Strength of Service

Kerber’s last two matches have been highlighted by the break of serves.  Halep and her traded back and forth each proving the others arsenal to be inadequate.  The trading of breaks even went on for a while with Venus.  Angelique finally asserted herself enough for a 6-4 and 6-4 win but where does this leave her for Saturday.  Match starts at 9AM EST on July 9th but it features a much different dynamic for the German.  How can she contend with breaking the best serve in the game from Serena?

Odds on Match

Sereana is a -345 ML favorite which will net you a +285 on a successful wager on Kerber.  The most balanced vig wager on the totals for the match is at 21 games with the over getting -120 compared to the under at -110. So the total is projecting either a three set match or a very tightly contested two setter in which one of them reaches the seven game mark.  This is where we will exploit the opening in the odds for a run at profit on Saturday.

Williams serve is so powerful that Kerber will not get all the breaks of serve she has been skating on the last two rounds.  Kerber’s serve is weak enough where Serena can get some return winners.  We like Ms. Willaims to win it but -345 ML is too much chalk to consume just on its own.  Under 21 1/2 games in the total is where we will strike.  We opt for the hook to prevent the push.  Good fortune in the ladies championship that starts at 9am as we project it will be a short path to profit here at HRWager.
